Body Butter Blends

My new body butter butter blends are 100% natural, very moisturizing and protective. Unlike lotions or creams where the main ingredient is water (which evaporates very quickly after it’s applied) these butter blends contain only carefully chosen butters and oils. They don’t contain any wax the thick consistency is due only to the blend of nut butters and oils. There are no harmful preservatives or artificial fragrances to worry about either

What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is holistic, concerning itself with the whole of the person and attempting to create balance for the whole body.”-Suzanne Catty

The use of essential oils for their “nice smells” is what most people think of as aromatherapy.Their aromas do have a direct effect on ones emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual being. Lavender essential oil is calming and has been documented to lower blood pressure, but it’s also excellent for burns, bug bites and other skin ailments. Lavender essential oil is also one of the few oils that can be applied directly to the skin.

I use pure essential oils in my skin care line for their soothing, healing, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Since my 20’s I’ve had problems with break-outs and nothing seemed to help long term until I developed and started using Emerald oil. It contains a blend of carrier and essential oils that have kept my skin clear without drying it out or irritating it, in fact, it’s improved the quality of my skin including fading sun spots.

What are Hydosols?

A hydosol is an aromatic water coproduced from the steam distillation of an essential oil from a specific plant. We use hydrosols instead of plain water because they contain the water soluble healing compounds from the plant not found in the essential oil. Using both pure essential oils and plant hydrosols gives a holistic property to our products not commonly found in other skin care lines.

Why I do what I do

There are so many companies making “natural” skin care products these days. The skin care aisle at the natural food stores is full of product lines that claim to be good for you because they contain natural ingredients. But in my own search for  high-quality effective products for my face, I found that “natural” products often had ingredients that aren’t so good like parabens and sodium lauryl sulfate - substances that some research shows are carcinogenic. When I researched further, I discovered that there’s a whole list of potentially toxic chemicals that are used in so-called natural products.

I decided that with my training and knowledge I could work on making my own skin care products for myself and my friends. Then I discovered that other people were interested in this as well and I decided to focus on creating a skin care line that was effective and truly made with natural and non-toxic ingredients.
